Top Job 2017: TECOSIM becomes employer of the year
Clear recognition for TECOSIM: the engineering company has been honoured as the best employer in its size category in the country-wide "Top Job" competition. Dr Torben Birker, Member of the Tecosim Group Management Board, and HR Manager Martina Künzl received the award from the former Federal Minister of Economics Wolfgang Clement. The mentor of the employer comparison scheme for medium-sized companies presented the renowned seal in Berlin.
TECOSIM has been honoured as the best employer in its size category (101 to 250 employees) in the country-wide "Top Job" competition
TECOSIM particularly impressed the distinguished academic jury, headed by Professor Heike Bruch from the University of St. Gallen, with its wide variety of external and in-house personal and professional development training programmes. The programmes are designed to attract and retain highly qualified employees in an extremely rapidly, constantly changing market environment.
The CAE specialist consistently attaches great importance to comprehensive orientation programmes for new colleagues and intensive further development for its employees with each employee having a further training budget of 40 hours per year. Fixed programmes also focus on structured, yet individualised development of key personal and professional skills.
Positive benefit: healthy work/life balance
The jury also considered TECOSIM's determination to promote a healthy work/life balance to be another positive aspect. TECOSIM offers flexible working hours with no core period and work can be organised to ensure that a career is flexibly reconciled with family life. Requests for a part-time post are generally granted and intensive guidance and support are given when employees return to work after a longer absence due to parental leave or a sabbatical. The company also provides in-house and external contact partners for relevant topics such as children, care for the elderly and stress prevention, thus reducing burden for employees on an emotional level.
TECOSIM Managing Directors in Germany, Dr Torben Birker and Martin Westerwald are pleased to receive the award
"We are highly pleased with the Top Job award," affirms Dr Birker, adding: "The award as a top employer is great recognition of the measures that we have implemented to date to increase appeal as an employer. The wide variety of initiatives to improve employee satisfaction have enabled us to position ourselves very favourably in the competition to attract the best specialists for our sustained, ambitious course into the future. Regular employee surveys provide us with confirmation that this is the case."
TECOSIM: multi-award-winning top employer
After winning previously in 2008 and 2013, TECOSIM has received its third award as a top employer, now in the category for companies with 101 to 250 employees in Germany for the first time. Since its founding as a two-man start-up 25 years ago, the company has grown into a development leader in computer-aided engineering (CAE). Today, some 460 employees work at thirteen locations worldwide on a daily basis to ensure this success story continues and grows.
The country-wide "Top Job" employer comparison scheme has existed since 2002, based on a survey and a scientific procedure carried out by the Institute for Leadership and Human Resource Management at St. Gallen University in Switzerland. One integral part of the studies consists of a detailed survey of employees and HR management in the companies taking part. A jury of seasoned business experts selects an overall winner to be "Employer of the Year" in each of the four size categories from the group of excellent employers.
