Heat management simulation

Simulation of heat management, also known as thermal management, primarily focuses on coolant, oil and other fluid circuits, and thermal networks in combustion engines.

In 1D system simulation, TECOSIM engineers submit the thermal network or the the thermal engine model to different temperature sequences. Heat management behaviour can be evaluated based on the results. The following diagrams show different 1D simulation models:

  • Schematic diagram of a coolant circuit
  • Schematic diagram of an oil circuit in a charged engine
  • Schematic diagram of the thermal network in combustion engines, including oil-coolant heat exchange, pump modelling and validation and calibration with CFD cooling jacket calculations (pressures, temperatures) and measurement readings.
