Multidisciplinary optimisation and evaluation of robustness applied to fully parametric CAD body models – concerning this topic Prof. Dr. Klemens Rother, Udo Jankowski, Thomas Schmid and Dr. Johannes Will will present opportunities, solutions and applications. The focus of the lecture is on the fields of body concept design, multidisciplinary optimisation and process chain simulation.

Permanent issues at the 11th Conference for Body Engineering are the topics environment-friendly lightweight construction, security and increasing cost pressure. Also the new vehicle concepts for city vehicles and electric vehicles are challenges.

On March 31st Dipl.-Ing. Damaso Lopez of TECOSIM will make a presentation in the “MDO - Multi Disciplinary Optimisation” session at the conference “automotive CAE Grand Challenge 2010”. He will report on the latest work and achievements of TECOSIM in this advanced technology. TECOSIM is also a Gold-Sponsor of the conference and takes part in the accompanying exhibition.

The “automotive CAE Grand Challenge” organised by carhs.training GmbH wants to help advance simulation methods used in automotive development by addressing the challenges of automotive CAE and motivating basic research and software development to overcome those challenges.

November 18th 2009, Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Heinz, Department Manager CFD, TECOSIM, will lecture on "Strömungssimulation in der hydraulischen Anwendung" at University of Applied Sciences Bingen (FH Bingen). The lecture is in line with the Universites Industry-Seminar, held by faculty 2 - Technology, IT and Economics.

November 2nd - 4th, the third European Hyperworks Technology Conference 2009 will be held in Ludwigsburg/Germany, with TECOSIM presenting two papers: Dipl.-Ing. Mark Gevers, General Manager TECOSIM Cologne, and Robert Schilling, Ford Werke GmbH, will lecture on "Modeling of Laminated Glass for Safety Simulation in RADIOSS", and Dipl.-Ing. Dámaso López Ruiz, TECOSIM CAE Project Manager Crash, will lecture on: "Effective CAE Process Using HyperWorks and TECOSIM Tools".

"Robust design optimization as efficient and automatic as possible" - is the slogan of this year's "Optimization and Stochastic Days 6.0 (WOST)", a symposium for CAE-based parametric optimization and stochastic analysis (Robust design optimization) in the virtual product development. The symposium, organized by dynardo GmbH, will be held in Weimar/Germany, on Ocotber 15th-16th, 2009.

October 15th, Dipl.-Ing. Udo Jankowski, Director TECOSIM, will lecture on: "Using multidisciplinary optimisation for concept development of BIW".

TECOSIM has established a new RADIOSS Competence Center at its Cologne branch office. By setting up a Competence Center, TECOSIM now has bundled its many years of RADIOSS expertise under a single roof. The RADIOSS Competence Center not only allows for continuing enhancement of various full vehicle and component crash and safety simulations, but it also pushes advanced modeling techniques, e.g. composite simulation and laminated glass, in deep cooperation with OEMs.
